About Racing for Smiles
At Triumph of Palm Beach we have decided to put our racing efforts to good use and support a great organization like Operation Smile. The program is designed to raise funds for Operation Smile by having pledges submitted for miles completed on the race track by any of our racers. Pledges submitted are on a per event basis, so they count towards our next race weekend. If you would like to pledge for multiple events you will need to submit separate pledge forms. Instructions on how to submit pledges are located below. All donations will be sent directly to Operation Smile.
About Operation Smile
Operation Smile, headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, is a worldwide children’s medical charity. In 1982, Operation Smile was founded by Dr. William P. Magee Jr., a plastic surgeon, and his wife, Kathleen S. Magee, a nurse and clinical social worker. Since 1982, more than 130,000 children and young adults with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities have been treated by thousands of volunteers worldwide and thousands of medical professionals have been trained globally. Pledge Math
On a typical race weekend we will complete up to 60 miles per racer and we usually will have between one or two racers present. Your pledge will be based on the combination of miles completed by our racers, but will not exceed more than 120 miles. Here some potential scenarios:
• A 25-cent pledge would total $15.00 if the racers completed 120 miles (approximate distance)
• A 50-cent pledge would total $60.00 if the racers completed 120 miles (approximate distance)
•A $1.00 pledge would total $120.00 if the racers completed 120 miles (approximate distance)
Next Race: Homestead - Miami Speedway - June 27 & 28
